Darwin College was founded as a postgraduate college in 1964 by Gonville and Caius, St John's and Trinity Colleges. The College buildings are a result of combining three existing buildings: the Hermitage, Newnham Grange and the Old Granary. Newnham Grange was the family home of George Darwin, Charles Darwin's son. Darwin College has about 400 students from over 50 countries studying for postgraduate degrees.
