Sarah Hannaford has been at Cambridge for five years, helping the University to grapple with the 14,000 applications that come in each year for 3,400 undergraduate places.

The University holds about 150 open days each year, organised by the Colleges and Departments. The Admissions Office holds its own annual open day, which attracts about 15,000 attendees. The Admissions Office prints and distributes 90,000 prospectuses each year and its website receives 2.5 million hits a month.
